Hackman Capital Acquires Former Maytag Facility
-422,000 SF Facility Located Directly Off Interstate 95; Ideal for both Manufacturing and Distribution Tenants-

The Florence County Economic Development Partnership (“FCEDP”) today announced that Hackman Capital Partners (“HCP”), a private investment firm that specializes in the acquisition of real estate and capital assets, has purchased the former Maytag facility on I-95 in Florence County.

The facility sits on a 95-acre tract of land on Range Way in the Florence Industrial Park; the facility, which also contains 34 acres of excess land, is a prime piece of real estate in Florence due to its frontage on Interstate-95.  The building itself features heavy power, excellent loading capability, and multiple cranes, which make it ideal for a single user manufacturing tenant.  Additionally, with its 32’ clear heights, easy access to multiple highways and its proximity to the Port of Charleston, the building is well suited for a major distributor.

As part of its overall business plan, HCP plans to immediately remove all of the excess Maytag equipment to prepare it for a future tenant.  The equipment primarily consists of presses, grinders, assembly systems, and coating machines, which will be auctioned off early this year.  In addition, HCP will have a plan in place to subdivide the building should the need arise.

“We see this project as having incredible potential,” said Michael D. Hackman, President of HCP, “The building itself has all the features that you could ask for as a potential industrial tenant.  When you add to that the pro-business climate in the state of South Carolina combined with the support of the economic development professionals in the region and you can easily understand why we feel very good about this investment.”
Joe W. King, Executive Director of the FCEDP said he looks forward to helping Hackman market the facility.   “Our hope is to get an end-user into the facility that will provide good jobs and capital investment in Florence County,” King added, “With FCEDP’s focus on bringing quality manufacturing companies and projects to the County we see ourselves strongly aligned with HCP in bringing potential new tenants to the facility,” King stated.
