Florence County Economic Development Partnership Launches New Industrial Buildings/Sites Database Application
The Florence County Economic Development Partnership (FCEDP) recently unveiled a new web based industrial building and site database that provides a comprehensive and user friendly experience to businesses and site consultants considering location in Florence County. The application boasts significant technological advances by incorporating powerful mapping software with in-depth labor, demographic, and employer information.
The new site combines the best mapping technologies with intuitive search capabilities and professional reporting. Among the many features, visitors to the site can access a visual representation of all properties and their location within Florence County through multiple mapping channels, perform radius searches of all-inclusive labor and demographic information, as well as source existing employers. The site also provides innovative functionality including the ability to save searches and customize groups of properties.
Statistics indicate that almost 80% of initial site location searches are conducted via the internet. The new FCEDP application, designed by Site Dynamics, LLC, was built from the site selector perspective as an insightful tool in assisting with location decisions. ”There are tremendous opportunities for both new and expanding businesses in Florence County,” stated Florence County Council Chairman K.G. “Rusty” Smith. “We are excited to have found an excellent medium to showcase these assets from a web based platform.”
“The FCEDP website receives over one million hits annually and is a critical marketing and information gathering tool for both businesses and site location consultants,” said Dr. Charles Gould, Chairman of the FCEDP. “The incorporation of this new tool allows Florence County to differentiate itself from the competition by providing relevant, detailed, and up to date information not only on available properties, but our community as well.”
The Florence County GIS department also made significant contributions to the new application with the incorporation of multiple mapping layers. “Florence County GIS has enjoyed the opportunity to coordinate efforts with Economic Development Partnership in their development of an interactive web application,” said Crystine Rathburn, GIS Manager for Florence County. “To help promote industrial growth for our County, dynamic geographic information systems (GIS) map data has been integrated into the Economic Development application to assure that the most up-to-date data is available at all times.”
The new application can be accessed through the FCEDP homepage (www.fcedp.com) under the search available properties tab, or by a directly linking to www.sidyn.com/fcedp.
